『SYNCHRON BRASS』は、名だたる作曲家から称賛を集める Synchron Stage Vienna - Stage A で収録された、ブラス音源です。
本製品はオーケストラのブラスセクションで用いられるトランペット、ホルン、トロンボーン（テナー/バス）、チンバッソ、バス・チューバをソロ/アンサンブルの双方で収録しており、世界トップクラスのプレイヤーによる繊細なソロ演奏から、破壊的なパワーを1ノートで生み出す「Giant Tutti Brass」といったインスピレーションを掻き立てるアンサンブルまでを網羅しています。
壮大なパワーをもたらす「Synchronシリーズ」ブラス音源
最高峰のプレイヤーの演奏を余すことなく提供するために、ソロパッチでは Trumpet 1/2、Horn 1/2 といった奏者別のパッチも用意されており、異なる奏者をブレンドすることで、よりリアルで美しい響きが得られるようになっています。
パッチ構築の面では、VSL社が誇る20年の長い経験を元に、アーティキュレーション間のシームレスな移行、どのようなノートオフ状況でも完璧にマッチするリリースサンプル、スムーズなベロシティ・クロスフェードを実現しています。これらを実現するために、全てのダイナミックレベルのマッチングを丹念に実施し、サンプルデータベース全体を磨き上げました。
VSL社のノウハウと技術が投入されている Synchron Player に、新たな機能「Timbre Adjust」を搭載しました。
「Timbre Adjust」はベロシティ・クロスフェードに代わるもので、インテリジェントなフィルター作用によって自然なダイナミクス変化を得られます。特にダイナミクスの表現に注意を払う必要があるソロパートにおいて、ダイナミックレイヤーに頼らず連続的なダイナミクス変化を得られる、新たなオプションです。
マルチ・マイクポジション
Synchron Stage Vienna 「Stage A」の広大なサウンドを余すことなくレコーディングするために、Vienna Symphonic Library (VSL)のエンジニアは位相を最大限配慮した上で、9つのポジションにマイクを設置しました。レコーディングされた各ポジションのマイクをSynchron Player上でミックスすることができ、必要な距離感や音像を自在に作り出すことができます。
各セクションは伝統的なシートポジションで個別にレコーディングされているため、そのままの状態で自然な音場が再現されるようになっています。
また、別売のエクステンデッド・ライブラリを追加することで、ステレオ・フォーマットに加えてソロ・ホルン用のプレイヤーの背後に置かれたコンデンサー・マイクとリボン・ルーム・マイク、5.1 サラウンド、9.1 Auro 3D（またはDolby Atmosなどのハイト・サラウンド・フォーマット）用のマイクチャンネルが使用できます。サラウンド制作はもちろんの事、ステレオ再生用としても各チャンネルをミックスすることで、ルームアンビエンスを含んだ広大なサウンドを得ることができます。
