AEA製R84マイクの成功を築いて、Wes DooleyとAEA社のエンジニアチームは、また新たにリボンマイクのサウンドの可能性を広げる製品を開発するべく、R92モデルの製作に取り組みました。R92は、近接効果による低音ブーストを低減し、至近距離でのギター・ベースアンプ、ドラム、ボーカル録音に適するように、風防技術が改良されました。R84と比べ、音源まで僅か半分の距離からでも、R92は同じような高低音EQバランスを保ちます。さらに、一体化されたショックマウントと軸受けは、限られたスペースの中でも簡単な立ち上げと位置調整を可能とします。R92に搭載されている変換機は、R88やR84搭載の暖かい高音域を持った変換機の改良版であり、リボンマイク界でもユニークなサウンドを持つ1台です。
こちらの製品はAPI500モジュール互換のシャーシが別途必要な製品になります。
