    676は、デジタル化された製作環境で失われがちな、太く温かみのある音質を再生します。プリアンプ部に250V駆動の双三極管12AU7/ECC82を搭載。真空管への入力ゲインを最大+60dBまで調整でき、ニュートラルなクリーントーンから倍音成分に富んだ温かみのあるサウンドまで自在に作ることができます。また、真空管の後段にレベルを調整できるアッテネーションつまみを装備しています。

    676は、定評あるdbxのイコライザー、コンプレッサー/リミッターを搭載しています。イコライザーは中帯域がスイープ可能な３バンドのパラメトリックイコライザーを採用。マイクロホンによるサウンドのクセなどを補正できます。

    コンプレッサーは、dbxの名機162SLの設計を継承。アタック/リリース時間を自動または手動で設定が可能なうえ、ニー特性を滑らかにするOverEasyスイッチも搭載しています。リミッターは過大入力からシステムを保護すると同時にダイナミックレンジを最大化するPeakPlusを採用しています。



    676は、用途に応じて便利に使用できる入出力端子を装備しています。入力にはXLR端子のマイクロホン入力以外に、標準フォーンジャックの楽器入力を用意。エレキギターなどのハイ・インピーダンスの楽器を直接接続できます。

    出力はコンプレッサー/リミッター後のライン出力のほか、EQ後コンプレッサー前の信号を取出せるプリアンプ出力も用意。どちらもXLR端子と標準フォーンジャックの2種類を装備しています。さらに、ポストプリアンプにインサート端子、コンプレッサーにはサイドチェイン端子を備え、外部プロセッサーの拡張に使用できます。

    前面パネルには、入力/出力/ゲインリダクションを切替えて表示するビンテージVUメーターを装備。また、20dBのパッド、+48Vのファンタム電源、極性の反転スイッチ、80Hzのローカットフィルターも搭載しています。
